ELECTRIC FLIGHT EVENTS

Please Note: For all BEFA flying events, BMFA or equivalent insurance is required.
The insurance requirements of other events is at the discretion of the organisers.
Please note BEFA requires a minimum flying qualification of an "A" Certificate for it's events.

June
14th	Raydon & District Model Aircraft Club, signposted Notley Enterprise Park, CO7 6QD off A12 near Capel St Mary.  All electric welcome.  Good grass field with charging facilities, refreshments, BBQ etc.  Contact David Jowers on 01473-723081 or by
21st	BMFA Southern Area Electric Fly in Event, courtesy of Winchester Model Aeroplane Club.  All visitors (Pilots and Spectators) must register this year, prior to the event, and will be issued a ticket on arrival.  Entry fee, of £3.00 per Pilot, when registering Transmitter.  Contact Peter Turley by email or on 02392 257 595
27-28th	BEFA International 2 Day Electric Flight Event at Middle Wallop.  By kind permission of Lieutenant Colonel (Rt) RJ Thayer School of Army Aviation and the The Museum of Army Flying.  We will be holding a two day electric event on probably the best grass airfield in Western Europe.  On the Saturday there may be an F5D pylon event, this will not affect the normal fly-in.  More information soon.  Contact email

19th	‘PANDAS’ GRAND ELECTRIC ‘Free for All’ Fly-In 2009 at Pontefract racecourse.  Signposted from J32 M62.  Gates open 9.00am, flying starts at 10.00.  Off the peg flying for BMFA members with any electric model.  Flyers and spectators free.  Model Traders welcome, Modellers' Car Boot, Raffle & Toilets.  No overnight camping. 19th	Chester Roodee electric fly-in 2009 at Chester race course, Chester, Cheshire. August
2nd	Bath SpaRCS All Electric Fly-In at RAF Colerne, Wiltshire.  Airfield site with grass & tarmac runways.  No competitions.  Proof of BMFA insurance required.  Regret no facilities for spectators.  Pilots briefing at 1000.  Contact Bob Partington on 01225 891441 or by email
21st-23rd	The Greenacres Electric Fun Fly at Aldridge Airfield, West Midlands.  A weekend dedicated to all things aeronautically electrical.  We want to keep the day fairly informal and the rules to a minimum.  Pilots must have at least an “A” certificate, and the model must have been flown before.  We will try to accommodate similar models in the air together where possible, ie warbirds etc.  There will be onsite camping and catering throughout the weekend.  There is an informal BBQ on Friday evening for those that can help set-up on Friday afternoon, there will also be the now traditional BBQ on Saturday evening.  Last year was a great success and everybody enjoyed some great flying.  For more information see the Greenacres website at http://greenacresMAC.co.uk
23rd	BMFA Southern Area Inter-Club Glider Event at the MVSA Club "Flat Field Site" just outside Soberton.  Choice of Bungee or winch Launch for gliders and separate class for any Electric Glider.  All welcome.  For more information see their website
23rd	Woodspring Wings Mac 2009 E-fly.  The Woodspring MAC field will be sign posted from Junction 20 of the M5 motorway, and is about 10 minutes drive from the junction.  Toilets and refreshments will be available at the site and there is adequate car parking.  Overnight camping is available by prior arrangement.  Entrance to registered Flyers and Club members is free but will be charged at £5.00 per car for all other attendee’s.  Please see the Club web site www.woodspringwings.com or contact Bob Everitt by email
