| ABOUT THE BRITISH ELECTRIC FLIGHT ASSOCIATION | ||||
The aim of the British Electric Flight Association is "to Encourage and Further all aspects of Electric Flight in the British Isles and Elsewhere."
The Association was formed in early 1990 in order 'To Encourage and Further all Aspects of Electric Model Flight in the British Isles and Elsewhere'.
Whether you are a newcomer or an experienced flyer, the BEFA caters for all levels and interests, be it free-flight, radio control or control-line model.
Our main asset is our quarterly magazine 'Electric Flight U.K.', which is was the first magazine to cater exclusively for Electric Flight in all its forms. Topics regularly featured include model and product reviews, construction techniques, electronic projects such as speed controllers, chargers etc., informative articles by some of the world's leading electric flight exponents on batteries, equipment, its choice, care and operation. In fact, something for everyone involved in building and flying Electric models.
Every year, we hold a Technical Workshop where members can come along and listen to speakers on many different aspects of Electric Flight. This event also encompasses a marketplace for all the specialist Electric Flight traders to display and sell their wares and includes a bring and buy area for you to dispose of all those surplus bits and pieces.
Should you require information or specialist help with any aspect of Electric Flight, then our free technical help service offers advice and assistance in solving all your Electric Flight problems.
The Association is now recognised by the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) as the specialist body for Electric Flight in the U.K. and this enables us to have a say in how Electric Flight is administered at all levels.
Throughout the year, a very comprehensive calendar of Electric Flight events are run, where BEFA caters for the sport and competition flyer by holding fun-flies and league events.
Full membership is open to all members of the BMFA. If you are not a member of the BMFA, a magazine only subscription is available. Foreign members are positively encouraged and you may join as a full member if you are also a member of your own country's governing body for model flying. Otherwise, you may also take out a magazine subscription.
Interested enough to join? Then go to our membership information page.
